• How is letterpress different from other kinds of printing?

Letterpress is a relief printing technique done on antique printing presses. Images and text are inked and pressed into the paper, resulting in clear, striking, and tactile prints. Traditionally, printers use hand-set type and plates. Crown Peak uses digitally printed plates, but the process is otherwise the same, and happens on a Chandler & Price press from 1919.

  • What is the process for creating a custom wedding invitation suite?

The first step is for us to meet (virtually) and talk about your vision for your special day and your distinct style. Feel free to bring examples of invites or other source imagery that inspires you. After we meet, I’ll create an estimate and an inspiration board for your invites, synthesizing what I learned through our conversation.

We’ll begin the design process once I have your signed contract, a 50% deposit, and the exact language for your invites.

  • How much will my project cost?

Each project is priced based on the client’s unique needs. I offer three packages at varying price points, and can also work with you to build a custom package. Packages start at $1,100 for sets of 100 invitations. When pricing wedding invitations, the cost is based on the number of cards designed and produced and the number of inks used in the design.

  • When should I place my order?

Save the dates are typically ordered 8-10 months in advance and mailed as soon as possible. Invitations are usually ordered 5-6 months in advance (mailed 6-8 weeks in advance, 10 or more weeks in advance for destination weddings).

  • How do I figure out the quantity of pieces I'll need?

I encourage you to order 5 to 10 extra cards to account for last minute guest list changes and to be sure you have copies for your photographer to take photos of. You may also want a couple extra for yourself, as well! The minimum quantity is 25 cards.
